State President
Hey Virginia TSA! My TSA journey began in the fourth grade when I entered the revolving doors of the Gaylord Texan Resort at the 2015 National TSA Conference. Two years later when I began middle school, I joined TSA right away, and I had no clue how far it would take me. But here I am, and I’m super excited to be serving my third year on the state executive council as your state President! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is William Collins, and I am a senior at Abingdon High School! My love for this organization grows exponentially greater as I continue to make new memories, meet new people, and grow as a leader. TSA has provided so many wonderful experiences through competitive events and leadership opportunities, and I am extremely happy to be able to give back to this organization. Throughout my time in TSA, I have competed in a multitude of events, and Chapter Team is my favorite. I have also run for office on the Chapter, Region, State, and National levels!
Outside of TSA, I try to stay active within my school and community! I’m a 2x section leader in my marching and concert band, the student body Vice President, the National Honor Society President, and I am also a club officer for Chess Club and World Language Club! I am also a member of 4-H and a part of my school’s tennis team! Finally, I like to bake & decorate cakes and cupcakes, I love Chick-Fil-A, and I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my dog, Tucker!
Virginia TSA, I am absolutely honored to be your 2022-2023 State President, and cannot wait to show all of you what this team will accomplish this year. If you have any questions, or would just like to talk, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via Instagram @wc.collins, or email me at president@tsavirginia.org! Signing off for now!
William Collins,
Virginia TSA President
Vice President
Hello Virginia TSA! If you don’t know me, my name is Cecelia Johnson, I am currently serving as your Vice President, and am now a senior at Abingdon High School. This year will be bittersweet for me— and all my fellow seniors— but I’m so happy I get to help lead this organization in my final year of high school. Outside of TSA I enjoy running for my school’s track and cross country teams and playing music; my favorite instrument is the piano. My biggest goals this year are to continue outreach to schools around the state in order to grow our delegation and to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Thank you so much for electing me again, and I’m so excited for you to see everything we have planned for this year!
Secretary
Hey Virginia TSA! My name is Steven Ramsey, and I’m honored to be able to serve as your Secretary for the upcoming year. This year, I’ll be a senior at Stuarts Draft High School, and I’m heading into my seventh year in this amazing club. I can’t think of any better way to spend my final year in this organization than by serving as a state officer!
Although I’ve competed in dozens of competitive events throughout my career in the organization, my favorite is easily Essays on Technology. My biggest goals for the upcoming year are to promote the organization, communication, membership, and general welfare of our association. If you have any ideas, would like more details, or want to discuss potential policy ideas, I’d love to hear from you – my contact information is below! When I’m not doing TSA, you can find me playing baseball, riding roller coasters, hanging out with my friends, listening to music, or spending time in the woods – I love hiking, fishing, camping…basically anything that has to do with the outdoors!
I cannot wait to work for all of you to make the upcoming year the best one Virginia TSA has ever had! If you ever need to contact me, please don’t hesitate to send an email to secretary@tsavirginia.org or shoot me a DM on Instagram (@steven.ramsey.3). Here’s to another awesome year!
Treasurer
Hey! I’m Kushal Gowda and I’m going into 10th grade at Maggie Walker. I’m a super social person and I love to talk to new people. A few things about me are that I’m a huge football fan, love the outdoors, and love music. I’ve been a hardcore Baltimore Ravens fan and you can catch me watching their games every Sunday! I’m a football coach and also love to get outside and play some myself. Alongside that, in the spring and summer, I’ll either be playing concerts with my band around Richmond or down by the river fishing or kayaking. I’m super excited for this coming year and wish everyone a great summer!
Reporter
Hi! My name is Sreemayi Gangireddy, I’m a Sophomore at Maggie Walker GS, and I am your State Reporter for the 2022-2023 school year! I’ve been a part of TSA for almost 4 years now, joining in 6th grade. TSA has shaped me into who I am today, teaching me what it means to be smart and to be a leader. I especially love hands-on challenges! My favorite TSA competitions are CAD Engineering and Dragster, two challenges that have taught me a lot about precision and design. Outside of my TSA life, I play the Viola with my school orchestra (no, it’s not a bigger violin). I like playing basketball with my friends, and I’m currently learning Chinese!
sergeant At Arms
Hello there! My name is Tarini Basireddy and I’m a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. I’ve been a part of Virginia TSA for five year now and I’ve loved every moment of it! Last year, I served as the Northern Region treasurer. My favorite events are Off the Grid and Data Science and Analytics. Outside of TSA, I love microscopy, painting, and random science facts (did you know that the letter J does not appear on the periodic table? Not once). Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about TSA or suggestions for future Virginia TSA events.
Historian
Hey Virginia TSA! My name is Vidhi Shah, I am a junior at Deep Run High School, and am serving as your State Historian. TSA not only has taught me so much about applications of technology, but also provided me with countless memories, and helped me grow exponentially as a leader. Outside of TSA, I enjoy running for my school’s track team, anchoring, and being a part of Model UN. I look forward to seeing what this year holds for us. TSA has always been there for me, and now I have a chance to give back to the organization by being a part of this amazing executive council!
Parlimentarian
Hello! I’m Alison Chavez, a current senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. I have been a TSA member since my 7th-grade year of middle school and am excited to serve as VA TSA Parliamentarian for my final TSA year. My favorite part of TSA is meeting new people across the nation and last-minute finishing my events (hopefully) the day before competition. I am an aspiring engineer and enjoy learning about various STEM subjects, such as computer science and math. In my free time, I love tutoring kids at work, traveling with my friends and family, and listening to reggaetón.
Northern Region President
Hi Virginia TSA, I’m Aashna Johri and I’m pleased to serve as your Northern Region President! I am a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, and this will be my fourth year in TSA. My closest friendships and favorite memories from high school are all from TSA, and I want to give back to the organization that has done so much for me by serving on the executive state council. Outside of TSA, I play flute for the TJ Band, play basketball on my school team, tutor, and am part of a nonprofit for women’s rights. Some other things I enjoy are: listening to music, watching TV shows or movies (especially Marvel), traveling, and painting. Some of the goals I hope to accomplish for this year include increasing communication between members and officers and gaining more members and chapters for the Northern Region. I’m excited to see what lies ahead this year for TSA.
South Central President
Hello Virginia TSA! My name is Sirjan Kaur and I’m the South Central Regional President. This is my 6th year doing TSA and I couldn’t be more ecstatic to help lead this organization. I am currently a junior at Henrico High School where I am part of the IB program. Outside of TSA, I participate on my school’s varsity field hockey team. Also, I am part of my school’s Model United Nations team where I am an avid debater about country policies. My vision is to further enhance our reigonal fair and state conference. I am looking forward to meeting everyone this year and I am looking forward to seeing our organization continue to thrive!
Southwestern President
Hey Virginia TSA! My name is Ben Puckett and I could not be more excited to get to serve this organization this year as the Southwestern Region President! I am a junior at Abingdon High School and this is my 6th year in TSA. Outside of TSA, I participate on my school’s state championship golf team, am the producer of the Abingdon Falcon Radio Network(my school’s sports broadcasting network), keep our basketball team’s stats, do maintenance work at my local golf course, and I am a Washington County Community Scholar. My main goals for this year are to continue growing my region’s delegation and use my experience at the regional level to help our organization continue to thrive! I can not wait to meet all of you and for you to see what we have planned for the year!
Tidewater President
I am James Foreman, a rising senior at Grassfield High School’s STEM Academy. I am excited to serve as the Tidewater Regional President for the 2022-2023 school year. I joined TSA in 7th grade and immediately saw the appeal. Through TSA, I have been able to develop valuable skills and connections and have had many opportunities to explore different fields through the competitive events it offers. TSA has been invaluable to me, and as such, I can’t wait to help the Tidewater region grow and develop as its new president over the next year.
Valley President
Ever since I joined in seventh grade, TSA has been my favorite activity. The competitions are the part I enjoy the most since I am a very competitive person. My favorite competitions are Structural Engineering and Technology Problem Solving. I also run track for my school and in my free time, I enjoy fishing and watching football. I look forward to serving on the state council next year to hopefully provide all of our members with an even better experience than last year while giving them more opportunities to succeed.
